Staying On Campus for Orientation

Student Lodging & Roommate Requests

We strongly encourage all students to stay in the residence hall, as we feel it is part of the total learning experience as well as the fact that there are activities that take place late into the evening. Students will live on same-sex floors and with the Orientation Assistants and other new students. They will also be assigned a random roommate. The cost to stay overnight is $33 and includes linens, pillows, towels and soap.

Before students arrive for orientation, they will be sent an email that will include a housing form they will need to fill out if they are staying on-campus. This form will include emergency contact information, if special housing preferences are needed (gender-neutral floor, ADA room), and the name of a roommate they wish to stay with for the night if one has been identified (both people will have to request each other as roommates).

Family Lodging

Family members are also able to stay in a residence hall on campus during orientation. The cost is $66. Please note that family members will stay in a hall separate from students, so please pack accordingly.

Each room comes with two twin-sized beds. Due to fire and safety regulations, there can only be two people staying per room. If you have more than two guests staying overnight at orientation, you must select enough rooms for each person to have a bed.

Early Arrival

There is an option for students and guests traveling a great distance to stay in one of our residence halls the evening prior to their orientation session. There is an additional fee of $33 for students and $66 for family/guests for this stay (which includes linens and soap) and it can be included in your registration fee. We are not able to offer extra night lodging following the orientation session.

Update Housing Needs

If the student has already been registered for orientation, but you would like to add-on student and/or family housing, please contact the Office of Student Transitions by emailing us at orientation@ecu.edu or calling 252-328-4173.

There are no refunds available for the orientation housing fee.
