Register for Orientation

This summer’s New Student Orientation will be held in-person with 10 sessions to choose from throughout June and July.

Review PIER and begin course registration
ECU’s “Pirate Introduction to ECU Registration” (PIER) provides guides for your first semester schedule and directs you through the academic steps to begin your journey at ECU.

You can look over the PIER website at any time.

Register for a COAD 1000 course

COAD 1000 is a 1 credit hour course that will aid in your transition to ECU.  The class will cover campus resources, how to study in college, time management, the importance of getting involved, career exploration pieces, and more!  Some sections are major or interest specific while others are open to all students.  You can find a class and register yourself by searching under “Counselor Education” in Self-Service Banner.  If you need assistance please contact your academic advisor or our office.

Complete the First Year Assessment

The First Year Assessment helps us gather data about the incoming class so we can tailor experiences to your needs.  Check your ECU email for your unique link to the survey.  Be sure to complete the survey by July 1.

Submit your final official transcripts.
F
inal official high school transcripts should be submitted. If you attended a community college or earned college credits during high school, please arrange for that school to send an official transcript to the Undergraduate Admissions Office.

Send transcripts to: Office of Undergraduate Admissions, Mail Stop 517, East Carolina University, Greenville, NC 27858-4353. We also accept electronic transcripts from most transcript services including the College Foundation of North Carolina (CFNC). Please request to have them sent directly to admissions@ecu.edu.

Submit information to ECU Student Health Services
Proof of Immunizations are a state law requirement and must be submitted. Failure to comply will result in academic withdrawal. Students must also complete the online Report of Medical History form by logging into their Online Student Health account at ecu.medicatconnect.com. Health insurance is a requirement for students meeting specific eligibility criteria. Students who are already covered by existing health plans can easily waive out of the Student Health Insurance Plan (SHIP). Visit the website for more information.

Placement Information

East Carolina University grants course credit for CLEP, DANTES, Advanced Placement, and International Baccalaureate exams. See the corresponding course list here. Make sure any AP exam scores have been sent to ECU. Check to see if you should take a Foreign Language Placement Test

Pay your Tuition

Classes will be dropped if your bill is not paid by the deadline.
